Modalities
In my practice, I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches to address challenges such as anxiety, anger, depression, couples counseling, divorce, marriage counseling, adolescent concerns, and low self-esteem.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
This evidence-based approach is particularly helpful for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem. Together, we work to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, replacing them with healthier, more constructive ways of thinking. The tools clients learn in CBT are practical and often become valuable strategies for navigating everyday life.
Emotionally Freedom Therapy (EFT) & Tapping
EFT (Emotionally Freedom Therapy), an Evidence-based, Mind-Body Treatment Approach to the large spectrum of anxiety disorders, helps individuals and couples identify and reshape emotional patterns that influence their relationships and well-being. By fostering emotional awareness and secure connections, EFT supports lasting change and deeper self-understanding.
Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a practice that involves stimulating acupressure points to help regulate emotions, reduce stress, and process difficult experiences. It is often used to ease anxiety, release tension, and promote emotional balance.
When used together, EFT and tapping can help individuals recognize emotional patterns while actively calming the nervous system, creating a clearer path to healing and meaningful change.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
When clients are looking for practical, actionable strategies, I turn to Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. This approach emphasizes identifying strengths and envisioning solutions rather than focusing on problems.
It’s particularly effective in areas like divorce counseling or anger management, where small, targeted steps can lead to meaningful change in a relatively short period of time.
Nutritional & Mental Well-Being
Nutritional and mental well-being are closely linked, with dietary choices playing a vital role in emotional health and cognitive function. By nourishing the brain with essential nutrients, individuals can support mood regulation, mental clarity, and resilience.
Incorporating nutritional awareness into therapy helps address underlying imbalances that may contribute to anxiety, depression, or cognitive challenges. This holistic approach promotes emotional stability, enhances overall well-being, and empowers individuals to make mindful, supportive choices for their mental health.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness techniques are an integral part of my work with clients dealing with stress, anxiety, or anger. Through exercises like guided breathing, meditation, and body awareness, I help clients cultivate a greater sense of presence and self-regulation.
These practices are not only effective for managing immediate challenges, but also for fostering long-term emotional balance and resilience.
Adolescent-Focused Therapy
Working with adolescents requires a unique approach, as this is often a time of significant growth and change. I create a safe, supportive environment where teens can explore their thoughts and feelings.
Using narrative therapy and psychoeducation, I help adolescents build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and navigate challenges such as low self-esteem or social pressures. My goal is to equip them with tools to thrive during this critical stage of life.
Family Systems Therapy
When working with families, I often use Family Systems Therapy to address the dynamics that influence individual behavior.
This approach is particularly helpful in situations involving family conflict, divorce, or challenges with parenting adolescents. By examining and improving patterns of interaction, I help families enhance communication, resolve tensions, and create a more supportive environment for everyone involved.
These approaches are among the methods I use to support clients through their unique challenges. Each modality is chosen to align with the specific needs of the individual, couple, or family, providing a supportive framework for growth, healing, and understanding.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that helps process trauma, stress, and deeply held emotions by using specific eye positions to access and release stored experiences. Based on the idea that where you look affects how you feel, it taps into the brain’s natural healing ability by identifying “brainspots” linked to unprocessed emotions.
Often used for trauma recovery, anxiety, and performance enhancement, Brainspotting engages the brain on a deep level, allowing for emotional processing beyond words. By activating the body’s self-healing mechanisms, it helps individuals move through emotional blocks, reduce distress, and build resilience.
